Tignes, France

Tignes is one of the highest altitude resorts in the European Alps. The village sits at an impressive 2100 meters and boasts an impressive glacier with the top lift peaking at 3456m, this allows snowboarding 11 out of 12 months of the year. Tignes is famed for freeriding and having been my home for the past 16 years it has also become my backyard. I love the preseason opportunities Tignes offers. Quiet slopes, brilliant conditions and even better deals.

Accommodation

If your a snowboarder and been to Tignes then you’ll have heard about the infamous snowboard bolthole, The Dragon Lodge. I’ve known John and Will for many years and it has become a home from home. Quirky, private apartments and a large living/dining area downstairs where breakfast and first class evening meals are served.

Logistics

Pre-season flights should be timed to arrive in Geneva by late morning/early afternoon whenever possible to make sure you can catch the private transfer. From Geneva the journey to Tignes le lac should take under 3hrs. Return flights again, should be booked from early afternoon to early evening whenever possible.
